Cancellation of Sunday June 7 Jukebox Bingo

As much as Music Sweet Music, Inc. would like to carry on with the Sunday, June 7^th Jukebox Bingo at The Deck Bar & Grille at Isla del Sol, current and upcoming new restrictions and social distancing protocols make it impossible to move forward at this time with this event. This is not a decision that MSM’s Board of Directors have taken lightly.

We are living in a world of great uncertainty and while we look forward to the moment when everyone who wants to participate in Music Sweet Music, Inc. fundraiser can do so safely and confidently, we are not there yet. The health, safety and security of our staff, their families, and you and yours, is of paramount importance to us.

Our team is working hard to arrange schedules in order to deliver successful and fundraiser event experiences as soon as conditions allow.

Music Sweet Music, Inc. wishes everyone the best health and safety during this difficult time, and we look forward to returning to our music therapy sessions and fundraising events as soon as possible.

On April 10th – Music Sweet Music received a surprised letter dated April 3, from the House of Representatives in Washington, DC. The letter congratulates Theodore Wagner on being named a Finalist for the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Community Service Award. United States Congressman Charlie Crist wrote “Your dedicated efforts to provide music therapy to members of our community suffering from various ailments is incredibly valuable to me and our neighbors.” Charlie Crist Representative for Florida’s Thirteenth Congressional district and has been serving since 2017.

Even though the risk is still low in our area, in an effort to be proactive, and only as a precautionary measure if COVID-19 evolves in St. Petersburg, we made the difficult decision to postpone the March 27^th Gala out of consideration for the health and well-being of our supporters, volunteers, live bands and all others who would have attended the Gala.

Congressional Medal of Honor Society Announces 2020’s Citizen Honors Award Finalist from Florida

Washington, D.C.—On February 26^th, 2020, The Congressional Medal of Honor Society announced the finalists for this year’s Citizen Honors Awards. Theodore J. Wagner of Music Sweet Music, Inc., (MSM, Inc.) located in So. Pasadena, Florida was named as a 2020 Citizen Honors Award Finalist for Community Service. Wagner, founded MSM, Inc. in 2001. Its Mission is to contract Board-Certified Music Therapists to provide children with illnesses, diseases and disorders with Music Therapy sessions and the special musical instruments used in Music Therapy. The ultimate goal is to support skill development in areas such as communication, academic learning, daily living skills, motor functioning, social skills, behavior, and mental health. Wagner averages 35-40 volunteer hours weekly at MSM, and has never received a salary from the nonprofit

The Citizen Honors Awards recognize Americans whose exceptional courage and selfless service embody the values of the Medal of Honor: courage and sacrifice; commitment and integrity; citizenship and patriotism.

From the finalists, six U.S. citizens and one organization will receive the Citizen Honors Awards this year on March 25, 2020, Congressional Medal of Honor Day.The honorees receive this award from a group of Americans whose actions have defined the words courage and selfless service — the living members of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. These brave Americans have received the Medal of Honor for their acts of valor performed during wartime and present the Citizen Honors awards to Americans who are showing courage and dedicating themselves to service here at home.

The Congressional Medal of Honor Society was chartered by Congress in 1958 to create a brotherhood among the living Medal of Honor recipients; to protect and uphold the dignity and honor of the Medal; to promote patriotism and love of country; and to inspire our youth to become worthy and dedicated citizens of our nation. Its membership consists exclusively of those individuals who have received the Medal of Honor. Today, there are 71 living recipients of the Medal of Honor. The Society is unique in that its membership hopes that there will be no need to welcome new inductees.

All you have to do to support Music Sweet Music, Inc. is go to the Winn-Dixie located at 6851 Gulfport Blvd S, South Pasadena, FL throughout the month of FEBRUARY and pick up a bag! You can find a choice of two colorful reusable Community Bags with the Giving Tag on the reusable bag rack at the store.
