2018 – On October 16, The Tampa Bay Lightning honored Theodore “Ted” Wagner as the fourth Lightning Community Hero of this season during the first period of the night’s game versus the Carolina Hurricanes. Wagner,received a $50,000 donation from the Lightning Foundation and the Lightning Community Heroes program. The Lightning Community Hero program was created in 2011 by Jeff Vinik as the signature philanthropic program of the Lightning Foundation.
