Personal mission as an MT:
I believe that music therapy can be used to support children, teens, and adults in their process of healing and coping with many challenges. My work has primarily been centered around medical music therapy and grief counseling, but I also have been inclusive of a variety of other diagnoses and challenges. My therapeutic framework incorporates aspects of both humanistic and behavioral approaches, based upon the needs of the individual patient and the goals established. Every patient has their biases and tendencies, dependent upon their experiences. I feel that it is necessary to see each person as they are, evaluate goals and needs regularly, and work toward goals that help each individual to thrive.
