How appropriate that after we celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday, that today is designated as NATIONAL WOMEN’S CHECKUP DAY!
Led by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office on Women’s Health and as part of National Women’s Health Week.
The goal of National Women’s Checkup Day 2018 is to remind the ladies that maintaining regular checkups is one of five healthy habits women can do to improve their health. Other habits women can include in their daily routines are physical activity, healthy diets, quit smoking and following general safety rules.
Yearly well-woman visits are important and encouraged, should include discussions of your health habits and family history, bring a list of all your medications to the doctor’s office. The doctor can then set health goals and his office can schedule any screenings or necessary exams that you may need.
